Circle Of Life…

Come Autumn and I am often reminded of the “Wheel Of Fortune”. Whether it’s something I subconsciously intend or it’s a pattern that I seem to draw – now almost for 5 years!!
Majority of key changes in my life happen around autumn and invariably I pull a lot of “Wheel Of Fortune” card.

The Wheel is fate, destiny, chance. Fortuna, the Goddess who determines the chance events of our lives rules The Wheel. In medieval art, the Wheel of Fortune characteristically has four shelves, or stages of life, with four human, semi-human, or animal figures, usually labeled in Latin on the left regnabo (“I shall reign”), on the top regno (“I reign”) and is usually crowned, descending on the right regnavi (“I have reigned”) and the lowly figure on the bottom is marked sum sine regno (“I have no kingdom”). Medieval representations of Fortune emphasize her duality and instability, such as with the two faces side by side like Janus; one face smiling the other frowning; half the face white the other black; she may be blindfolded but without scales, blind to justice. She was associated with the cornucopia, ship’s rudder, the ball and the wheel.

And that is the key to peace on the Wheel I think. We all experience the *Life* roller coaster and one learn’s to take the good with the bad… times which have you hugging yourself and times when you hold yourself and cry…times you wished life would come to a standstill and times when you wish it could have never happened, and these are all external factors…your environment/circumstance something that we can’t control.

The truth is, life goes on so if you can find a place in the center of the Wheel where the turning is the least noticeable, where you become more an observer of the events happening in your life without being thrown all around by them, you can feel a sense of peace and stability even in the most trying of circumstances. If you can manage to achieve that place in the center, that’s where Fate is ruled by Providence and becomes a divine gift.

During the seemingly endless time spent in airports and walking my dog Jimi, I spend a lot of time in my own thoughts. I watch people and wonder on their actions, situations, and circumstances. And then I have some lovely acquaintances who will call and after talking shop will ask for a reading – which is fine – the only problem being is the “post reading” effect. I agree there are sham’s around – but why would one shrug away a genuinely good psychic reading experience by a “whatever”??!!

Most of it I think it stems from embarrassment or an unwillingness to be seen as someone who believes in the “woo woo.” It’s like we’re so scared to admit there’s more to this life, our experience of it, than what we can see.

We feel nudges, hunches, and odd feelings all the time. We make synchronistic associations all the time. We see signs and we dream and make connections. But we feel awkward admitting it and accepting this other input as valid.

Even as a tarot reader, I still experience the same feelings. There are some days when I am sure I am spewing nonsense, just pulling random things out of my hair. (Funny how, on those days, my readings are better.)

I’d like us to be less ashamed of speaking about what works for us if it’s not of the socially approved norm. I’d like us to go ahead and be awed and amazed when a stranger tells you something they shouldn’t know.

The more we accept these sources of information for what they are, we will become much better at utilizing them and know their place in our lives.
